SUMMARY:Intertwined: Rising In Hope
DESCRIPTION:Intertwined: Rising in Hope promises a stirring evening of choral brilliance celebrating renewal and resilience. \nThe performance features the European premiere of We Are Phoenix by composer-in-residence Timothy C. Takach. The Earth has shown itself to be a powerful model of how to overcome obstacles through continual rebirth and evolution. Through poetry from multiple authors\, We Are Phoenix illuminates the analogy between humans and our planet: we both suffer loss and devastation\, and yet rise again and again\, becoming stronger each time. \nAlex Berko‘s Sacred Place receives its UK premiere as part of the programme. Sacred Place is an ecological service that connects the old with the new\, the sacred with the secular\, and the individual with their community. The outline of the work is a Jewish service. However\, rather than Jewish prayers\, the text is made up of various writers and thinkers who speak of the environment as a place of safety\, comfort\, and beauty.

SUMMARY:Tchaikovsky - Child of Glass
DESCRIPTION:From the acclaimed team that brought you Beethoven: I Shall Hear in Heaven comes a blazing new music-drama about the life of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.\n\nNominated for an RPS Storytelling Award and hailed as ‘an explosion in the heavens\,’ Tchaikovsky: Child of Glass brings to life with shattering immediacy all the pressures\, passions\, and conflicts that shaped Russia’s most celebrated composer and one of the world’s irreplaceable geniuses. \nBorn into a society that reviles and criminalises his nature\, Tchaikovsky finds himself torn between public expectation and inner truth. Forever seeking to express his deepest feelings\, yet haunted by the threat of condemnation and ostracism\, music becomes Tchaikovsky’s refuge and sole avenue for self-expression. He fulfils himself by pouring out longing\, anguish and ecstasy into compositions of breathtaking beauty—masterpieces that continue to move us to this day. \nWritten and performed by Tama Matheson\, with music re-imagined and performed by Jayson Gillham\, and featuring actors Suzy Kohane and Oliver Holland alongside the Royal Ballet’s Téo Dubreuil—with choreography by the Royal Ballet’s Stephen Wicks—Child of Glass is an electrifying theatrical event that depicts\, with incandescent power\, the life of one of the greatest artists in all of Western music.
